Patricia is our newest addition to the KDF family. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and is proud of her West Indian heritage (Trinidad/Grenada). She began dancing at a young age for the East New York Theatrical Workshop in Brooklyn, where they would perform at community events, nursing homes, and hospitals. She was fortunate to be exposed to professional dance training in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and African dance, as many of the teachers were recruited from New York dance companies such as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance.
Patricia’s love for dance carried on into her adult years as she became lead choreographer for her church’s praise and worship team in Buffalo, NY. She moved to Northern Virginia in 2011 and was first introduced to dance fitness at Gold’s Gym. When she joined Lifetime Fitness in 2016, her interest peaked. She initially became certified as a Zumba instructor, however Kaliente won her heart as she came to class faithfully 3-5 times per week.
Patricia is both CPR and AFAA certified. Her smile lights up a room as she exudes passion, positive energy, and encouragement to all members. She has a unique way of simplifying movements which has definitely created a following.
